We are looking for a passionate and dedicated part-time EAL Teacher to support students who are learning English as an additional language. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, appropriately differentiated EAL lessons and support students’ development in listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, and confidence in using English.
The ideal EAL Teacher will be adaptable and responsive to students’ individual language needs. They will create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, use clear modelling and scaffolding, and help students access the wider curriculum while developing their English-language skills.
As UHIS is a small school, the candidate must be comfortable working collaboratively with class teachers and the wider team. The role may include individual, small-group, and in-class support, as appropriate to students’ needs. The ability to build positive relationships, monitor progress, and contribute to a welcoming multicultural school community is essential.
The role involves teaching one day per week on Wednesdays.
