The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul announces a selection procedure for an external provider of expert consulting services in the field of supporting the export of food products, beverages, and related technologies (hereinafter referred to as the “Consultant”).

Scope of Services:
- The purpose of the services is to support Czech companies operating in the agriculture, food and beverage production, and food-processing technology sectors in exporting their products and services from the Czech Republic to the Republic of Korea. 
- The specific scope of activities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

1. Identifying new export opportunities and establishing new business contacts in the Republic of Korea for Czech companies in the agricultural and food sectors;
2. Planning and implementing events and promotional campaigns to support exports of Czech agricultural and food products to the Republic of Korea, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul;
3. Providing support to Czech companies in matters related to the import of agricultural products, food products, and related technologies from the Czech Republic into the Republic of Korea;
4. Providing assistance in administrative matters related to trade in agricultural products between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea, including practical and procedural support in obtaining the relevant accreditations, certificates, and customs declarations required by Korean authorities for the import of agricultural products and technologies from the Czech Republic under the EU–Republic of Korea Free Trade Agreement;
5. Communicating with Czech companies interested in conducting business activities in the Republic of Korea, particularly with regard to applicable laws and regulations;
6. Cooperating with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul and other Czech trade-support organizations and regularly reporting results to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

1. A degree in economics, agriculture, food science, food technology, or a related technical field;
2. Knowledge of the Korean agricultural products, food, and beverage sector;
3. Professional experience of at least 3–5 years in a middle-management or equivalent role in the trade of agricultural products, technologies, food products and/or beverages is considered an advantage;
4. Ability to work independently and maintain a results-oriented approach;
5. Willingness to travel within the Republic of Korea and to the Czech Republic;
6. Fluency in Korean and English; knowledge of the Czech language is considered an advantage;
7. Membership in a professional chamber, association, or industry organization related to the agricultural and food sector is considered an advantage.

Contractual Terms and Benefits:

1. A prestigious role involving cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and the diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Korea;
2. The Consultant will provide services as an independent external contractor and will not be employed as a local staff member of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul. This contractual relationship will be based on the provision of expert consulting services under a service agreement;
3. The services are expected to be provided on an hourly basis (up to 168 hours per month) throughout the term of the contract. The monthly remuneration is expected to be in the range of KRW 5 million to KRW 7 million, subject to the actual number of hours of services duly provided and approved. The stated amount is inclusive of all mandatory local taxes, social security contributions, and other statutory deductions applicable in the Republic of Korea, all of which shall be the sole responsibility of the Consultant;
4. The remuneration requested by the Consultant will be considered as part of the overall evaluation and selection process;
5. The service contract is expected to commence on January 1, 2027, for an initial period of one year, including a three-month evaluation period, with the possibility of extension;
6. Flexibility in the provision of services, including the possibility to provide services remotely, subject to regular in-person consultations at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul one to two times per month.
