🔐 Hiring | Security & Data Protection Officer – Korea

I’m currently supporting a fast-growing global premium outdoor & lifestyle company in hiring a Security & Data Protection Officer for its Korea business.

As the company continues to expand its business and technology organization in Korea, this person will take broad ownership across Information Security, ISMS, Security Governance, Data Protection, Risk Management, and technical security, while working closely with regional and global technology teams.


Key Responsibilities

• Drive and continuously strengthen the ISMS framework in Korea, including ongoing compliance, audits, risk assessments, remediation, and post-certification management
• • Develop and enhance local security policies, standards, guidelines, controls, and governance processes• Identify security risks and translate regulatory and business requirements into practical security initiatives
• • Support Data Protection and Privacy Compliance, including relevant Korean regulatory requirements• Work closely with IT teams across infrastructure, systems, access, cloud, and other technical security areas
• • Partner with local business stakeholders and APAC/Global Technology & Security teams
• • Lead security projects and help establish a sustainable security operating model as the Korea organization continues to grow

What We’re Looking For

• Solid experience in Information Security, ideally combining Security Governance and technical security exposure
• Hands-on experience with ISMS/ISMS-P, including certification, operation, audit, remediation, or post-certification management
• Experience developing or operating security policies, controls, frameworks, or security programs
• Good understanding of broader IT and technical security, beyond compliance alone
• Experience in Data Protection / Privacy / PIPA is highly valued• Ability to work effectively with regional and global stakeholders in English
• Ability to operate independently as a senior individual contributor and take end-to-end ownership of security initiatives
• Industry background is open — prior experience in fashion, retail, or consumer industries is not required.
• Professionals with backgrounds such as Information Security Lead, Security Governance Manager, Security Manager, Information Security Officer, Deputy CISO, or hands-on CISO may be relevant depending on the scope of their experience.
