Job Description

We seek to hire a legal counsel of commercial legal who will be a key member of the growing legal team supporting AliExpress consumer facing e-commerce platform and services in South Korea. The attorney will be based in Seoul. The key areas and requirements that we are looking for are those listed below: Primary Responsibilities - Advise on legal aspects of the platform’s international expansion of current and proposed new e-commerce offerings, with a focus on South Korea. - Provide advice to business teams on legal aspects of the implementation of commercial agreements, business models and strategies, business operations, marketing activities, and product offerings. - Research local laws and regulations in the local jurisdictions and manage outside counsel. - Provide advice on platform compliance, product listing compliance, local and cross border logistics, import/export, and payment acceptance. - Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, commercial agreements and policies. - Develop in-house legal tools and policies, and conduct trainings to business units. 

- 전자상거래 서비스의 국제 확장에 관한 법적 측면 자문 제공 - 유관 사업 부서들을 위하여 계약, 사업 모델 및 전략, 사업 운영, 마케팅 활동 등과 관련된 법적 측면 자문 제공 - 현지 관할 지역의 법률 및 규정 조사 및 외부 법무사 관리 - 플랫폼 컴플라이언스, 제품 게시 컴플라이언스, 국내 및 국제 물류, 수입/수출, 결제 수락 등에 관한 자문 제공 - 계약, 상업 계약 및 정책의 협상, 작성 및 검토 - 사내 법적 도구 및 정책 개발, 그리고 사업 부서들을 위한 교육 실시

Position Requirement

- Qualified lawyer in South Korea. Strong plus to have a bachelor of laws degree from a common law jurisdiction - For legal counsel, 3+ years of post-qualification experience at a top tier Korean or international law firm and/or corporation. In-house experience is highly welcome, strong preference for e-commerce/tech related. - Experience with e-commerce, and/or cross-border trade transactions (such as product listing compliance, import/export, logistics, payments, financing, etc.) preferred. - Proficiency in Korean and English is essential. Strong plus to have fluency in Chinese. - Highly-motivated and able to balance priorities, meet deadlines, manage time and work independently and under pressure in a start-up environment. - Sincere interest in technology, innovation and business. Strong commercial sense with solid foundation in legal training. - High integrity and desire to collaborate with others. - Eligible to work in South Korea. - Open to international travel. 

- 법학 학사 이상 학위 소지자로, 대한민국 변호사 자격증을 보유하신 분 - 기업 내에서 5년 이상의 법률 업무 경험을 보유하고 IT/인터넷 산업군에서 업무 경험이 있으신 분 우대 - 한국 및 국제 비즈니스 법률 환경에 대한 이해도가 높으며, 복잡한 법률 문제를 처리할 수 있으신 분 - 우수한 커뮤니케이션 및 협상 능력을 갖추고, 다양한 부서와 효과적으로 협업할 수 있느신 분 - 글로벌 환경에서의 업무 수행을 위한 영어 커뮤니케이션이 가능하신 분
