*Position summary:
The AEM Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling all production-related activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role oversees production planning, material management, maintenance coordination, project execution, people development, and EHSQ compliance to meet business and customer requirements.

*Main Tasks of Production Manager:
1. Production Planning & Operations
- Develop and execute production plans based on sales forecasts, customer requirements, and R&D demands.
- Adjust production schedules according to operational constraints, equipment availability, and process issues.
- Ensure production targets, product quality, delivery commitments, and cost objectives are achieved.- Coordinate production activities with Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and other relevant functions.

2. Manufacturing Performance Management
- Monitor daily manufacturing performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct routine plant inspections and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve productivity, reliability, and efficiency.
- Manage production budgets and support cost optimization initiatives.

3. Material & Inventory Management
- Manage raw material planning, inventory control, procurement coordination, and material availability.
- Ensure accurate production and material data management through SAP and MES systems.
- Monitor material consumption and optimize inventory levels.

4. Maintenance & Reliability
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and plant availability.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of operational and technical issues.
- Prepare work permits and approve general maintenance work permits within assigned authority.

5. People Management
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and training to production personnel.
- Foster a strong safety culture and promote continuous improvement practices.
- Conduct first-level performance evaluations for operators and support employee development.

6. Capital Projects & Plant Modifications
- Lead plant expansion and modification projects.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
- Support equipment selection, project execution, commissioning, and startup activities.

7. EHSQ (Environment, Health, Safety & Quality) Management
- Ensure full compliance with BASF requirements, local regulations, and applicable international standards.- Lead implementation of EHSQ programs, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
- Manage risk assessments, Management of Change (MOC), emergency response preparedness, and safety inspections.
- Review and maintain SOPs, operating manuals, work procedures, and ISO-related documentation.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM), DCS/SIS documentation management, and proof-test follow-up activities.
- Participate in SHE committees and promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and quality.

*Education/Qualifications required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. 
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing plant environment. 
- Strong knowledge of production operations, manufacturing processes, and EHS requirements.
- Experience with SAP, MES, or equivalent manufacturing systems. 
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and cross-functional coordination skills.
 
* Competencies required:
- Experience in semiconductor chemicals, electronic materials, or specialty chemical manufacturing.
- Experience in project management, process safety management (PSM), or plant expansion projects. 
- Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC), risk assessment, and operational excellence methodologies. 
- Proficiency in English communication.
